nice running m seriues

picked up a M series last night at a pretty fair price had to drive 230 miles round trip but to me it was worth it. its a m21zprc non oil injected push mower. starts first pull and runs perfect and has the sought after mulch plug.

Craftsman 917.370950 434564 gear case assembly, need gear to run a lot slower

This mower moves much too fast for my old legs. Need to slow the walking speed much slower, maybe half the speed. Changing pulleys on belt drive apparently would be insufficient. Has anyone encountered this problem and maybe found a gear part to fit this gear case, that would significantly slow the axle speed?

What to look for when buying used

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a used commercial lawn mower and was wondering what everyone looks for in general when buying a used zero turn. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Like new Scag Tiger Cub (Cat) with 61", 25hp Kawi

Scag Tiger Cub zero turn mower (Similar to current model Tiger Cat), approx. 9 years old. Has only 440 hours on it. 61' deck with 25HP Kawasaki. Mower has been obsessively maintained, near mint condition. Chasis and deck barely broken-in and like new. One owner, always greased, cleaned, etc and seat + tires look like new. Has never burned ethanol gas, only synthetic oil after break-in. Too big for me now, need a smaller deck. New unit that is almost identical would be near $9k, design changed very little from Tiger Cub to Cat.

Having trouble loading pictures here, posted one but have more and will gladly email them. You won't be disappointed if you want a like-new zero turn and not the new price tag.

Leveling Kubota 48" deck

New to this forum.

Have 2 older Kubota G5200 tractors with 48" decks. One has front adjustable deck hangar arms the other has non adjustable. How do I raise front mowing height on the non adjustable deck?

Mower backfires and nearly dies

Having a problem with my hustler fastrak. After mowing for a couple hours a few weeks ago (usually takes 3 hours total) it started backfiring at full throttle with the pto engaged and sounding like it was dying. It sounded fine without the pto engaged. I took it to the local hustler dealer for repairs. When they finally did get it back to me--after a week and a half--they said that they replaced an ignition coil that was preventing the mower from running both cylinders. Made sense. I brought it home and ran it for about 20 minutes before it started doing the same thing again. Took it back for repairs again, and as of last week the answer was, "we don't know what is wrong with it." They also say they can't get the problem to repeat. I think they won't be getting another dime from me again when this is all said and done, but does anyone have a theory of what the problem could be?

Choke linkage question.

I took my carburetor completely off and disconnected both linkages and a breather hose to give It a good clean also removed the float bowl to clean. Got done put everything back together and the choke linkage that attaches to the side of the engine block came off I put It back on but not sure I put It on right. When I engage the choke on the lever the choke engages all the way, but when I turn the choke off the choke flap Inside the carb only open's half way Im not sure If that's normal or not. If I manually move the choke I can open the flap all the way.
