SRX75 transmission ---Does is use fluid? If so, how is the fluid level checked?

John Deere SRX75 riding mower with automatic transmission --- Does the transmission use transmission fluid? If so, how is the fluid level checked? It feels a little difficult shifting from drive into reverse.
