Howdy all,
I'm toward the back of the deck when it comes to troubleshooting my push mower. I was told people from this site bounce great ideas and insight between each other so I thought I might as well give the wealth of knowledge here a tap on the shoulder.
Sunday I was mowing my mid sized lawn with my Briggs and Stratton push mower when the pull cord was caught on a rosebush branch. As I tried to free the cable; the mower suddenly went to a high throttle, faster and louder than I can remember ever hearing it. Once I freed the cable the power dropped out from it and it sputtered itself off. I haven't been able to restart it since, although once or twice it tried but it seemed the idle was extremely low.
My idea is that the cable being drawn tight whilst running changed the timing but I keep being told, by someone who has less repair experience than I have that I am wrong, although he cannot offer a solution. Has anyone here came across the same situation and/or if you don't mind sharing your thoughts on a solution please offer them.
Thanks for the thoughts everyone!!
