While expanding the fleet, I just acquired a Simplicity 5215 12.5 (1691473) with a locked-up Twin-II engine.
It is very similar to my perfect 6216 I bought in 1985 (changing oil keeps 'em running a long time)
Also have a running donor LTH 12.5 Vanguard V-Twin (engine 290777) in chassis 1691886-the model the headlight bar falls out of. Could it be a 1990's model?
Will that newer Vanguard V-Twin OHV 12.5 swap in to replace the old style 12.5 Twin II ? The new Vanguard has an oil filter on the left and the starter is on the right. Starter is on left side of the locked-up engine and it has no oil filter.
The carb and electronics appear much different as well.
If this will be the swap from hell, tell me now and we will find another old-style engine. Many thanks for your help.
