JD 316 starter repair

Hello All! Newbie here, first post. Hoping to get some tips and advice on removing starter from my JD. Egine is 18hp Onan. Videos on YouTube show pulling entire engine out, hoping I don't have to go that route. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
