I just bought a used Cub Cadet 2084. The guy I bought it off of said it had a bad diode on the circuit board. After I got it home, I found several wires that had been cut or the insulation was stripped. I fixed all the wires and now the starter will at least spin. My problem is that it will not engage the flywheel. I took the starter off to check the bendix and it is funtioning correctly. I can also see where it is hitting the flywheel. Is there supposed to be some kind of spacer behind the starter?
