The Weed Eater One...

Hi, Newbie here.

I've been running this tractor from March through October weekly here in Texas for the past 4 years.

I've replaced the tires but other than that, it's been a trouble free mower.



Taking it out of the shed this year, I noticed the battery is dead and the transmission is pretty noisy. It easily pull-stars and still runs but I was considering replacing the tractor.

After looking at the comparable models out there, I was unimpressed. They're expensive and the reviews aren't exactly glowing on them either.

So, I hosed down the Weed Eater and discovered it still looks in fairly new condition.

So, what to do?



I called Sears and ordered an upgraded trans, belt, blade, and this steering gear upgrade that people have been talking about.

Total, $450 shipped.



I'm going down to install the transmission now. From what I can see, it looks pretty straight forward.



Anyone else gone down this road or had good luck with the Weed Eater One?
