Just bought a 2001 16-38 HXL. Anythig I should know about this mower?

I just purchased a used 2001 Toro Wheelhorse 16-38 HXL. It was given the once over by my mower mechanic and seems to run well. He replaced the usual stuff, spark plug, air filter & changed the engine oil & filter. I pulled the Allen plug on the trans and it is full of fluid so I just replaced the plug. I downloaded the Operator's & Service manual today for a reference.



It does backfire at idle when hot and being turned off.



I would like to replace the blades (no mulching blades). Any recommendations?
